The dangers/problems of interbreeding chameleons?

Hi there, i have often wondered as above what sort of problems occur when breeding, say a male and female from the same clutch?.

As i have noticed alot of people here in the Uk will buy a male and female from the same clutch, and i am sure with the intention with breeding,

I was under the impression that getting two unrealted say panthers from the same locale was the always the best way? rather then buying related males and females?

Im sure in the wild this must happen? Thanks

i have learned recently a few basics things about this. you can usually get away with having a breeding pair of the first generation. but as you go down and use different pairs from the same clutch down the generation lines, say 2nd and 3rd. deformities will start to occur (kinked tails, overlaped fingers, etc) plus there isnt any change in colour or patterning. that is why people who care about breeding, always use two different bloodlines

Thanks for that, im sure alot of veileds where i am are interbred, as i see lots of people buying pairs from the same clutch etc,

So the first generation would be fine to breed?

generally ive been told first breeding is fine and breeding an individual back to parets is sipposed to be ok but it is when it goes on and on and on it becomes a problem. there are quite a few breeders near us now oski so hopefully it wont happen much. i saw some nice pieds and hypermelanistcs yeasterday which were ovely for a great price

I see, yeah it makes sense, where were the hypers mate?

Have You decided what panther you want mate? or still going to wait and see?
