Terrorism Threat/Alert in Australia

At 4.30am yesterday, police made their move because they believed a planned suicide attack on the terrorists' target, Sydney's Holsworthy army base, was "likely imminent", NSW Police Commissioner Andrew Scipione said.

The four men had allegedly plotted to storm the barracks with automatic weapons and kill as many soldiers and bystanders as possible in what would have been the worst terror attack in Australia....

Wow. Glad they made there move to stop it, Terrorism is gonna be the end of the world in my opinion.. i think all the nuclear bombs that are gonna be shot someday will just kill the atmosphere, and us.

Way off topic.

lol Thanks for sharing, thats a pretty nneat story.

Thanks for the reminder Brock! :p I plan to screw that statistic right up thanks mate!

Re the terrorist threat, Yeah, its a bit of an eyeopener, Be a really sad day when Australia's Happy, carefree, 'she'll be right mate' attitude is spoiled by terrorist acts on our soil. This has always been considered one of the safest countrys in the world to live, work and raise a family. Id hate to see that change.

Just a few days ago I got a panicked call on the cell from my youngest daughter, she had just got out of highschool and walking to the bus, turned the corner into a block wide police barracade, where a triple stabbing and a huge gang brawl was taking place.
The barricade wasnt so carefully watched, given what was going on, and she walked right into it.
Fortunately she was redirected by one of about 30 cops before getting hurt, but she was shaken and frightened, never having seen anything like that here before.
A few weeks prior a couple of teens were stabbed on the same street meters from my family, blood everywhere. Really hard to instill confidence in your kids when they experience such things.
On the upside , these events have made clearer their understanding of our reluctance to
allow too much freedom yet, not because we dont trust our kids, but because we dont trust other people. :(

Sad story, sorry bout your daughter, hope she gets over it, would be an awful thing to see... i remember when one of my best friends was stabbed (Gang related) some of my friends seen it happen, they watched him die!. Was very sad.
