Temporal glad ?

I have noticed this on the Jax at times off and on- it looks like a little flake of the temporal gland oil - almost like it is shedding for lack of a better word- I see them, and they fall off the same day I notice them- but this one has been on here for about 3 days- there is no swelling, redness or soreness - does not seem to bother her at all - but this one has not fallen off, and seems to be getting thicker - should I try to pick it off ? I dont want to irritate anything- lord knows I do not need any more issues with Olive  she is doing so well after her ordeal - I still watch with a cautious eye - but she seems to have made a full recovery :)

it looks almost like a potato chip sticking out of her mouth - :p I did try to mist/spray it off - but it seems to almost repel the water

If it doesn't come off soon, RUN to the vet for the meds. i forget the name, but once it gets like that it can be a constant lifelong recurring issue. i have had plenty of petsmarts adoptees come through here and it just doesn't get any better or easier. it can be a handful to work with if it gets out of hand. your best bet is to get it before it gets you. sorry to be the bearer of bad news. i have just seen some bad ones. NOT to worry, you caught it in time. however, i would suggest getting it looked at. there is a thread i started for one petsmart jax at the beginning of my started threads. you can tell it is in the store by thebackground. he was only having issues for about a week before it got like that.

It looks like a piece of shed stuck there. Get a pair of tweeters and gently remove it. I'm not sure what causes these temporal gland infections. I've never had a Jackson's get one.

Jacksons and Panthers are the messiest eaters. If you can get her to gape at you use tweezers or a moistened q-tip to remove it.
