temperature?!

I just recently bought a temperature gauge after having my chameleon for a week with a 100 watt heat bulb. After installing it today I found out that my highest basking spot was at 120 degrees!!! After I made some adjustments it went to around 100 degrees. Is this OK or should I make it a little cooler.
My little guy is a young panther male about 6 months maybe.

You should make it cooler. 90 at the most, I prefer 85.

Yes, bring it way down. Aim for 85 degrees. 100 is way too hot. 120 is just crazy.

Basking spot of 85°f. Across the way at the same distance from the uvb 80-82°f. Down at the bottom should be 75°f. The middle should be around 78°f. May have vary a degree depending on your guy.
