I had my uv light and 60w bulb in my chameleon cage before, and i replaced both so my yemen chameleon couldnt get burned, but now the temperature is only 73.4 degrees during the day. But he hs a basking spot and the temperature there is 90-100 gedrees.

Is the cage to cold for him? Should i buy a higher watt bulb?
Please help me out

How are you measuring the temperatures?

I ask this because my digital thermometer reads the cage ~5* lower then the basking spot really is (measuring with a heat gun).

As Harry said, 70s is a great ambient temp, 100* or higher for a basking is likely a bit too high.

Also it would depend on the age of the Cham.
