taking cham outside?

in the summer, our temps are 28-34*C, (unsure in Farenhight) is this alright? a lot of people like to give there chams some natural sun, and was wondering if i should, too.

I love to take my chams outside and they love going out. The summer temps you have seem fine, anywhere from around 24-34 C should be fine. The best time to do it is first thing in the morning till mid day, thats when you will get the strongest sunlight.

Yeah, my Carl loves to sunbathe. He'll sit on my hand and just lay there. But as toddmkeller said, anything 24 degrees or more should be good for them.

ye i live in the uk an last summer i had my cham out side he loved it just basked most of the day it was great this year i am building a mesh tank to go outside for them

My cham loves it, he just wanders around my yard (not far from my eyesight though)

You can really tell that they're getting something they want from the sun, that they don't seem to get from their UV-B lamps. Thaxter loves to be outside (to the extent of reaching for the door if I carry him past it) - and hates to come back in. I bought my screen Reptarium for taking chams outside (they free-range indoors), but haven't used it much - I let him wander about free, but do not let him out of sight. He'll bask for up to an hour or so, then wants to set off to explore - the peonies, the spruce tree (which I let him climb to five feet). He wants to go under the car, but is not allowed. I've walked halfway down the block, keeping an eye on him and strolling along at his pace - if he were left alone for five-tem minutes, he'd be gone (not to mention the raccoons, possums and feral cats in the neighborhood). But with supervision, it's Fun For the Whole Family.

My male especially loves the outdoors, but we have too many predatory birds flying around that make me uncomfortable. I guess my babies will just have to reside in cages.

Naomi, they dont really seem to pay attention to my chams, theyre too small, altough your male is pretty big

I usually put them outside one one day, one the next. I check their poo and if I see any orange they go out and I spray them and spray them and spray them....until everything is soaking, about 5 or 6 times while they are out. I figure they get thirsty in the warm sunshine. It really works!

I take almost all my reptiles out in the summer. 10 chams, 6 bearded dragons my yard look like a zoo but the animals are happy & I get to sit with them and do nothing without guilt!!

I only get about five months where I can take them outside for a few hours from time to time. There is a visible difference in growth when they're young. I don't put them out if I don't have a screen cage for it as I'd prefer less impressive growth than risk of loss.
