You also need a third cage for your second female!

Okay the set up on the lights is wrong for basking light and I would need a true basking light on its own? And second female needs her cage of her own. Now here is another question, since I have second fixture socket on the light shade, can I place another Repti florecent 5.0 HO on it?

Thanks guys

Yes, you will need a true basking spot light on its own. It needs to be dome light fixture so it's a concentrated bright light. You could get a 6500 grow light from light your reptiles for the other socket. I wouldn't do another 5.0.

And yes. Each Cham male or female need their own cage. They are solitary animals and being housed with another Cham stresses them out and stress can lower their immune systems. When housed together they will be competing for food, territory and basking position. They may not "look" stressed but they are. And even in separate cages you will need to block visual from each other. They shouldn't even see each other.

Thank you Peachypink but I read in some articles that Females can be together, I figured why not put them together.

I would be interested to see what articles you are reading. There is a lot of misinformation out there. And yes there are a few that say it's ok. But if you look in the trusted community of breeders and those who own them you will see a lot of info to the contrary. It can be done in a large enough area but that would be like greenhouse keeping or an area the size of a small bedroom. They would need enough space that they don't compete for resources.

It sounds better to go off individual cages, lol. Yeah I read in few websites in google regarding the 2 females in one cage but I feel better hearing it in here from the this forum. Thanks for all the feedback.

Here is a pic taken from the Kammerflage Kreations website. And also here is a link to a blog from Bill Strand of Dragonstrand. It might seem convenient but honestly the health issues that will arise later due to stress suppressing the immune system is just not worth it.

Glad to help. This forum is great with a wealth of info and people who have been there done that.

I would love to see pictures of your chams. I love pics!!

Exactly I dont want to deal with health issues later, it will stress me out. I rather want a peace of mind and happy Cham's.

Sorry for the delay but, I am waiting for my 34" uVB T5 fixture. Here is my set up, I have to sell my third female because I was not thinking of setting up a third cage but her is what I have first cage I am rotating her with male because of the UVB light gets at my home tomorrow so for the mean time I am playing mary go round witht the cages. The second cage I am leaving her their because I think she is starting to develope or want to develope eggs in her, she mated with the male 2 weeks ago and she has been pacing at the bottom sometimes not all the time and spends alot inear the bottom. The third cage is out of the shelves because I dont have room so I am waiting for a buyer.

The suggestion I would have is that there needs many more horizontal branches at varying heights for them to thermoregulate. They needs lots of pathways. If you get those in there and give the plants time to fill out it should be good. You can just get branches outside, clean them well and cut them to fit. Then you can use thumbtacks from the outside to hold them in place.

Certain species of chameleons can be housed together, such as pygmies and melleri and sometimes parsons. However all the species just mentioned but the pygmies need to be picked depending on their individual personalities and whether they would work together. Also they need large enclosures, at least the size of a large room. Melleri can be kept in colony situations, though it's not recommended unless you are very experienced with other species and keeping melleri by themselves.

Yeah, I was looking for good branches in my area because some are too old or dry up quick and break easily. but the green plants I place in there grow really quick with UV light. Thanks.

Thanks for the advise but I found out the second day I had the second female in the same cage with female and male, I thought the 2nd female was mad at the male but when I removed him, she was still mad a the 1st female so I knew then that I had to remove all of them and since you guys mention to separate them, it all made sense to keep them all apart but either way I can't have 3 cages it won't fit in my apartment so I must sell of the female. sucks they can not get along.
