T. Deremensis Mouth injury

I checked on my Deremensis male this morning as always and he looked fine. I came back to him an hour later to mist his cage down and saw a little curl on his upper lip and a smear of blood on the underside of his horn. It did not look so bad but it turned darker as I watched it. I assume I saw the injury right after it happened since it had not even bruised up at that point. I believe he must have slipped on branch and caught his upper lip and the underside of his horn when he fell. The picture is what it looked like 5 minutes after I noticed it. The dark bruising formed as I was watching him.
Does anybody have any insight as to what I could use to prevent infection or if its necessary to do anything at all? I have a vet here but they have very little chameleon experience. I am not sure what they would do in this case but any advice would be much appreciated.

I would get iodine at a 10% solution and a qtip and clean the area, very carfully not letting any in the mouth ( will be difficult ) and then a tad of polysporin on the exterior wound only again trying to be sure none get into the mouth.
Mouth injuries can be difficult as they ofen reopen due to moisture and feeding. Also highly susuptable to infection. I would watch the area very close and if it looks like any infection is forming get to a vet.

O'mai! Providone iodine diluted with water to resemble a mild tea solution. Draw into a needless syringe however much you wish. Point the tip of the mouth to the ground and flush the wound. I would then rinse with bottled water.

I do this exact method with mouth rot cases and admit i know the animal has to swallow some. I have not noticed any side effects of this yet but im sure you want to keep it minimal.

I would do this daily and let nature do the rest.

Thanks for the replies. I got the iodine and polysporen so hopefully this does not turn into a nasty infection. The deremensis are my favorite and I am sick about that cut on his lip.
