Swollen eye issue (Veiled chameleon)

hohhoh

Im having issue with my veiled chameleon. Lately his eyes has been bit swollen but i thought its nothing too critical since theyve gone always back to normal after a while. Today i freaked out when i came back to home from buying crickets to him. I went to feed Carlos and then i saw his eyes bigger than ever. Now even hes sleeping the eyes didnt get back to normal. Still they remain the same and its been about 5 hours he went to sleep

Im handling him quite often cause he wants to get outside from his terra to get a walk and hang around on our plants. He has ficus benjamina, Epipremnum pinnatum and Monstera deliciosa in his terrarium (real plants). The plants outside his terra are mostly the same + Pachira aquatica. I think non of these plants are bad for my veiled cham?

Im feeding Carlos with crickets, mealworms and sometimes im giving him salad, orange and paprika. And yes i wash them b4.

Im moisting his terra with pump bottle, about 10 seconds at time 3-5 times a day (depends on how dry the terra gets during the day.) Hes drinking quite often. He has not water dripper or any other container.
Humidity is usually around 50-60 %, at night time it gets to 70 %, temperature at daytime is 27 to 29 C (80-84 F) and at night time its always 27 C/80 F.

He has glass cage with air ventilation screens at top of the cage.
Width: 80cm
Height: 70cm
Depth: 50cm

UVB: ReptiGLO 5.0 (at the moment im ordering reptisun 5.0 lamp, just to try out if it would work)
Heat: Zoo Med 50w infra lamp so if needed i can keep it on at nightime too, tho temperature at my apartment hasnt gone that low even during winter time, that i should keep it on over night.

He had coconut husk at bottom of his cage, but he ate it alot and was quite hard to keep clean so i decided to put sand at the bottom, i know i know u shouldnt put sand in your chameleons cage right? But sand he doesnt eat and still i can keep the cage moist so its ok?

Ive placed his cage high on my shelf about 1,5-1,6 meter high about 59 inches.

Im living in finland

If u know something more i dont know please help me.
Dont suggest me to bring him to vet, i know it already ok.
Tell me if im doing something wrong here.
Im thinking its about the uvb tube. What do you think?

Help help me worried of my pal :(

Ill post some pictures very soon!

Here is couple pictures of him sleeping atm and 1 healthy normal looking carlos to compare

its just really weird that sometimes they are swollen and then suddenly its gone again. Anyone has similar experiences?

And btw sorry about my english, at times i find it bit hard to understand :p

Hope you got me anyway :)

It looks like he may have an eye infection, or is possibly under/over supplemented.

what do you supplement with?
what do you gutload your bugs with?

do you have a reptile vet nearby? if it is an eye infection, you will have to take him to the vet to get antibiotics to treat it.

also, his basking temp is too low for an adult male. i would get that temp closer to 85-90 F.

Im gutloading with vegs and fruits like lettuce, orange, apples, paprika and cucumber.

Supplements i am using: nekton-rep about twice a month and tiny amounts of calcium maybe not even once a month.

I took his uvb lamp off last night and today he were about 3 hours withouth it, the eyes went back to normal.
You think the reptiGlo 5.0 would cause this? At many topics ive been reading about reptiglo uvb lamps to cause problems like this.

Ty for the advice with temperature, am working on it!
Gonna go to get him checked at vet just to make sure its not anything critical tho

The older bulbs used to cause eye issues, but this was years ago. so unless you found one from then, they uvb bulb wont cause those issues.

as for your supplements, i dont know that brand.

but you should be doing a calcium without d3 for every feeding,a calcium with d3 twice a month, and a multivitamin for twice a month.

supplementing issues can cause the eye thing too.

im glad you are taking him to the vet.

also, i would find blogs from sandrachameleon on here, and read about her gutloading, the gutload you have could use some improvement.

nekton-rep is an multititamin mixture with d3 so.
Ill try to increase dose of calcium for him, or maybe i shud just wait till vet's judgement :p

Anyway thanks ALOT for advice ^^
