Susi+Peter´s chamaeleons

Yeah, looking good. Can you give us incubation details?

OK Luis - it needs a while but now i will post some incubation details.

I put the eggs in 2 large plasticboxes which i filled with an first layer of clay granulate (that stuff what you can use for hydroponic plants) and a second layer of Vermiculite. A pic of the box with the eggs is in the attach.

Some words to the temperature later ..... musst go to work.

hey have you bn contacted by anyone fromthe group kinyongia chameleon keepers?

Yes i´m in the group.

Do you feel like you can sex them at this point?

Now some words to the incubation temperatures. Normally they should be during the first 180 days between 70-72 F (with 63 F at night) and after the 180 days between 75-77 F (with 63 F at night).

About the hot summer after the operation my incubation temperatures were not really good. Because of this heat period i had between 73-80 F at the day and only 68-72 at the night.
Later i could put the boxes at an cold place in the cellar and the hat the correct temperatures - but at the begin of winter is was a little bit too cold (at 68 F).
After that i put the boxes in the bedroom and the temperatures was good again.
When the end of the normal breeding time was come closer the eggs looks not really good and i unattended them. That is the reason why they had up to 83 F at the last month.

In the literature you can read about an breeding time of 310 days.
My eggs need 380 days!

You know that - sometimes you searching for some special chameleons and sometimes you got luck. Today i had such a day and i got a offspring pair of Kinyongia boehmei.

Woah great luck! They look sooo healthy.

Thanks for sharing the incubation details. Going over 365 days is common for me as well because I do not create seasonal temperature fluctuation.

Thank you very much.

I love that small animals. And the male shows some covert colors - i wait eagerly how he will develop.
