well I had my female jackson chameleon for about 3-4 months now. I got a phone call from my room mate and he told me that my chameleon had babies! The thing that trips me out is that when I bought her she was enclosed in a all female cage. I did not expect to see a bunch of little chameleons running around. I am very happy that this happened to me, I was just wondering if this ever happened to anyone. I also wanted to say am I supposed to give these babie chameleon just the same kind of setup as a full grown jackson? I have them in a plastic tank because I didnt have a spare screen cage at the moment. Well if I can have any helpful hints for a litter of newborn jackson chameleon it will certainly help! ^^ thanks again. I will post pictures asap.

You will want to put them in a small screen enclosure. From my understanding jackson's do well with a slight breeze if it is not too cold outside (Socal, hawaii, florida type weather). Within the smaller enclosure the babies should be offered plenty of food (pinhead crickets and/or fruitflies). There should be am abundance of food so when they want to eat they should easily be able to. Thats all I can help you with. I am not too familiar with jackson's but this should help you out a little.

yea I'm gonna goto the petstore to pick up that screen cage. Im hoping I can find something that can fit my budget my funds ><; Do I need to dust the pinhead crickets and the fruitflies?

I also had another question. Will the baby chameleons be ok if I where to feed them about 12 hours from now? (10PM). I have been misting them ever since I got back. I found out about my baby chameleons while coming home from work and by the time I got back around my area all the pet stores that carry the pinhead and fruitflies where closed. Once again PetCo screws me over by saying they dont carry fruitflies and pinhead crickets.

Find an independant pet store in your area...a lot of those carry exotics and they sometimes have the smaller crickets. Pinheads will go right through a screen ...so until you can do a little bigger crickets you need a glass enclosure

try geting 1/4 size crickets , i know they seem big to a baby but they love em i always get 1/4 size crickets and they last much longer and you can actaully grab them to lol and they have more nutrition in them then a pinhead , i only use pinheads for the first weeek i have babies then right to 1/4 size i find that pinheads dont have much to them and you have to feed thousands at a time and it just costs you out the butt for them. so try geting some 1/4 crix so your paying for what you get but good luck with the babies. i heard there reall hard to care for right up to 3 months old but again good luck hope they all survive for you

I agree...the 1/4 inch should be fine for them...try ordering them so it wont cost you too much. I get mine from reptilefood.com

Congrats, i dont think there is anything more rewarding than seeing them born or hatched, it is really cool. hope you got to see at least one...good luck

I don't know much at all about Jacksons but CONGRATULATIONS!!!! There is nothing more fascinating than baby chams :) Take lots of pictures!
