Supplements

What are supplementation recommendations for panther and vield chameleons. I have read so much controversial material and would like some input from experienced breeders.

I'm not an experienced breeder but I've done plenty of research on veiled chameleons as I keep 2 of them...

Calcium w/o D3 every day and D3 w/ multivitamin 2 times a month (both every 2 weeks or alternate them weekly).

I don't have the info on a leopard as much.

I'm an experienced breeder, but my supplementation schedule would not help you. I formulate and ball mill my own all organic supplements so I can use the same powder almost every feeding to cover vitamins and minerals.

Thank you for the input, I think I have been over doing the D3, due some bad advice, my guys do not get outside as much as I would like. They appear healthy and have great appetites. Eggs look amazing from both females. I think I will back off D. What websites have you found to be the most accurate and trust worthy. The recommendations I have been following came directly from a breeder with beautiful chameleons. I also feed my feeders fresh veggies daily and gut load prior to feeding.

Most people use the Ca every feeding. Ca w/ D3 every two weeks. Multivitamins every weeks. Alternating the latter two. I like to ocassionally skip a dose every so often. For Ca, maybe 1 out of 7. The x2 monthly, maybe once every 3 months (1 out 6 uses). You should be focusing on the gutloading of your feeding. Look under the caresheets on this site for the proper foods for feeders.

Welcome to the forums. I see you live in FL, a little north of me. :)
I have a blog for new keepers that you might find helpful. Here is the section about supplements that I recommend.

The feeders have to be "lightly" dusted with 2 kinds of supplements. When your chameleon is young you will use plain calcium (no d3) at just about every feeding...... if you skip one or two days a month that's ok. You will also need Reptivite with d3 twice a month.

The low D version of Repashy Calcium Plus is probably the closest commercial product to what I use. I like to low dose D on a consistent basis compared to those who use a higher dose twice a month. But I don't use UVB lights either, so my guys need it.

when i bought my guy at 2months old. my breeder supplied me with repashy calcium plus and told me to use every other feeding. once that ran out about a few weeks ago i now use repashy low d about 4 times a week

Thank you everyone for your help and suggestions. I def will make some changes to my supplement regimen, want them to be super healthy and live long lives. Love these guys and I have already had enough trouble with my guy that injured his tongue.
