I'm curious to know what brand and type of supplements melleri keepers use and how often. Does anyone use Bee Pollen for gutload? Has anyone tried Grapefruit Seed Extract for bacterial infections? How often do females lay clutchs?

I was told by Kristina F. that bee pollen isn't always good supplement to use.

I believe females cycle once a year... but might cycle twice depending on the health and how you are keeping the temps and food intake. My female is about to cycle again and it's been one year.

(I'm sure I will hear backlash from some, but ....) I supplement for my melleri the same way I supplement for my panthers and have great success with keeping them for a few years now. And my Newbie apparently has done well with her cycles (3 of them in the past year!!) and has had no ill affects. I normally use Cricket Crack for the dry gutload but when I am out and waiting for more, I use my own recipe that does include some bee pollen, however they don't get that stuff very often.

can use I reptivite d3 and miner-all 0? I do not know exact calcium supplements and Melleri, I give calcium (miner all 0) after 5 days and after 10 days reptivite. how is every 10 days reptivite 1 day in all the dams and 2 alternate days miner-all 0. would be good for an adult Melleri?. thanks

Julie,

The question now is...what is your supplement scheduled for your Panthers? :p

We've had ours since s/he was 6 month old (Jan '09) and have never really supplemented his/her feeders. I can't say that supplementation is good or bad, rather, the older they get, the less they seem to need. :)

I saw some really cool rain chambers in last months reptiles mag. But they didnt really show anything useful for chams. I cant wait to see it.

I have just always supplemented the melleri the same as my panthers since I have been keeping them (probably because I didn't know any different at the time...) but they were always WC adults. I have raised 5 CH melleri from the time they were the size of my pinky (4 weeks) and when they were young, I supplemented them the same as I would a baby panther.

Again, melleri keeping is not an exact science and I believe much of it has to do with the temps/humidity, etc. where you live. However, I believe that you may be right in terms of the older they get the less they may need, assuming their feeders are properly gutloaded, of course.
