its still a pupae...2nd stage of its life, give it time and a beetle will come out

any idea how long? i was cleaning superworm tubs today, and i saw that guy.. i thought one of them had that parasite from Alien vs Predator, and that littler fucker popped out

The first ever time i found one of those it was hiding underneath my chams papertowls i had lining the botton of the cage. i was on a roadtrip and my brother took care of my cham but was like 4 days late on changing the paper towlels weekley. when that thing started wiggling around i was freaked out and didnt know what it was, they look pretty scary!!!

and with that needle like thing coming out of their mouth like on some other insects.. it looks like it's hooked up to life support....

I breed my own superworms and I find that it takes about 10 days to turn from pupae to beetle. It's strange that you found one in your superworm tub though as they generally don't morph into pupae unless separated individually. But ya, they are creepy looking lol ><

it was individually. i have multiple small tubs that they are sold in at my local store. i put them off to the side when they get dirty, and clean them when they are needed. i guess that i thought the guy that was in there was dead

are those more healthy for chams than mealworms???
and what all would i need to raise them? is it the same as the stuff for breeding mealworms?? my cham seems to love getting his mealworm(s) (1-2 a week) more than he does crickets and grasshopers with his favorite being flies.

mealworms are like feeding your chameleon an annoying shell. Superworms are very meaty and juicy. i believe they have quite a bit of fat, but 1 or 2 with every major feeding isn't bad. i believe they are sometimes used as staples even

Yes. The jury is out on whether they are a good staple, but they are widely regarded as superior to mealworms.

I think it's very similar, if not the same. You can gutload the supers before feeding them off.

If he likes worms, he should like superworms.
