New Panther (Nosey Be) hatched 10-23-16. I've had him for 1 week. He eats well, drinks water regularly and appears active and healthy (from what I can tell when he's not hiding/ getting use to his new surroundings).
Basking temp is a solid 83.4 during the day. Humidity around 46%. I am currently hand misting while I debate a Mist King purchase.
I came home today from work and found that he was shedding. No big deal, except that he had no outward signs of starting to shed prior to today.
Still no big deal, but he shed A LOT. From the white skin I see in the terrarium he has shed maybe half of his body in one day. Except for a few small pieces stuck on his body, there are no signs of the other "half" starting to shed. I couldn't tell where it all came from.
He didn't eat a lot today either. I left him with bout 20 small crickets this morning. I came home to about 12 or so left. He's been eating about 13 a day since I got him. I know that this may be normal during shedding.
Is this normal? Can a Cham shed part of his body nearly completely and not the rest? My other cham would get dull all over and it was obvious he was shedding days before he started to. Then it would take days to shed. Is being tiny and small make this easier for them or make the accelerated shedding normal?
Could this be a sign of a husbandry issue or am I worried over nothing?
