Sunken Eyes?

My chameleon has not had any kind of appetite for a few days. He doesn't look so good either. This isn't the first time he's looked like this. I have done some research and he got better (Appearance, and appetite.) And now he is starting to not eat again and his eyes look very bad. Any comments? If he does not progress within the next day or so I am taking him to the vet.:confused::confused:

Here is a picture of him.

im assuming here without seeing the back of the rear feet but your he looks like a she.

The eyes sunken also looks like a little swelling on the turrets that suggest the animal may have a infection. This type of swelling is typical with a sinus infection. A vet will need to test the infection to see what antibiotic will best help solve the issue.

In the mean time i would give your chameleon long mistings. A shower chamber would be best twice a day for 15 minutes or so,. https://www.chameleonforums.com/blogs/ataraxia/594-shower-chamber-treatment.html

Edit: Could you also fill out the how to ask for help form. Also do you mind posting pics of the back of the rear feet.

You know, I've always told my fiancé that he is a she. lol Because SHE doesnt have that "hook" on her rear feet.

Oh no! I hope thats not the case. :(
But I will definitely look into that. I'm actually online trying to find a better "humidity/misting" system. Because her humidity level drops from time to time.

Also, what do you mean by "how to ask for help form". Link? And I will definitely post pictures right now. Thank you.

Please copy, paste, and fill this out. He/she does look like they could use a checkup.

Looks like a lady to me...

You need to get a laying bin in just because....you know, she's a girl and they need that.

While I'm sure that more expert people will offer better suggestions, I'm going to start off with HYDRATE MORE! Soak the crap out of her. It can only help her address whatever other issues she might have.

Put her in the shower on a plant or, if your drainage is great, just mist a full gallon of water 2x a day for a bit.

im going to second what eliza said,

also, fill that form out.

and finally.. she needs a vet.

that eye swelling is more than likely some sort of infection, either from her eye, nasal cavity, etc. but it wont go away without antibiotics.

also, get a mistking. best thing for watering your chams.

for now, try long warm showers with her to help the eye, like eliza said, it wont hurt her.

and you NEED a lay bin, seeing as you have a girl. ;)

Okay, so I've done the plastic around the terrarium and tried to keep humidity in there. Its been better. But, I don't have any way to the vet. I don't have a car to go. Nor do I know anyone to take me. I live in this crappy little town in Texas. With no exotic animal vets. :( Im so stressed about this. Idk what to do for her. I hate seeing her eyes like that... It breaks my heart!! :(:(:(

Can I use any type of home remedy as far as antibiotics? I dont know what else to do. If worse comes to worse I will have no other choice but to see if I can give her to someone closer to a bigger town that can take good care of her.

Do you have any vets in your town? We live on an island where the vets are mainly for farm animals or cats and dogs but our vet has sourced info from afar (most vets could do this to get advice from other vets) and has been a great help! I don't think there's anything you can do at home to fix an infection like that I'm afraid :(
