hello I'm getting a 2-3 month old Panther chameleon and I have a 4ft tall, 2ft wide and 18"deep wooden Viv just wondering if this is okay for him or if it's to big to begin with! Thank you!!
your cage is suitable for even an adult panther, although its recommended that adults are housed in a 2 by 2 by 4 foot cage at the least. it will give him lots of room to grow into for sure. usually the biggest concern with babies in large cages is them finding food, but you can put his feeders in a cup so he knows where to get them every day. when he's an adult you might want to upgrade him to something a little bigger, but the cage you have now is fine for him as a baby.
My 24x24x36 was out grown by 6 months or so my guy was climbing all over the walls and needed more horizontal room! My suggestion is to buy something 36-48 inches tall and at least 3-3.5 feet wide. I like the atrium style cages myself!
Okay thank you so much! Wish I knew about this site before buying my Viv!! can't wait to get him!! He's going to be called 'Bilbo' (Bilbo baggins from the hobbit)
