Suggestion on sun light (area nearby Azusa, CA)

hey guys,
I live around LA. First of all my prayers for all of the Fire disaster victims and their families.

My cham is used to bask in sunlight and lately due to the smoke, i did not let him bask outdoors anymore (I closed all my window. and it's been 3 days without sun).
Hence, my columbus throw a tantrum. He does not want to bask using my UVB light at all.
today i want to try putting him outdoor to bask but a bit scared if the smoke is too dangerous for him.. (I live around Azusa)
So, the smoke isn't that bad at all..
but the sun is shining bright red.
So, i am guessing it's useless to bask in that kind of light..
What do you guys think?

He would still receive uvb/uva but I don't recommend putting him out in that smoke. Keep him indoors under the artificial lighting until the smoke clears.

Do you have a heat/basking lamp for him? The UVB bulb won't put off enough heat for him to bask in !!

yes i do have 75 watt basking lamp. basking spot temp get to 100

eek 100? I had those temps for my cham,he didnt like it at all! I use 60 watt

yes.. only when it gets too close.
now, i hang the lamp quite high so the basking spot reach 85 - 90
