Hi,
I just got my first chameleon at the sacremento expo last weekend.
He's a young veiled, about 4 inches.
I've got a temp cage I built with screen and plant saucers as a bottom and top.
Currently have a jug with a hole and a hose sealed to it and a valve controlling the drip.
And the cage itself is sitting in a Rubbermaid with a hole antd another hose going to a bucket on the floor.
Also, just one ficus plant.
Anyways, onto my question. I'm going to order a light and fixture tonight.
I have been putting him. (Almost forgot, yes a male) outside at about 9 or 10 in the morning and bringing him back inside at about. 2:30 because I work at 3 pm. 2 days of the week he spends most of the day light outside.
Is this suffiecient until I receive my light. Or do I need to go buy one at a store ASAP?
Also, sense I am on the subject, I know most everyone seems to reccomend the reptile sun 5.0, but who here has had good experiences with mercury vapor bulbs and/or compact bulbs. Personal bad experiences with them would be appreciated as well.
Thanks
