Do you have an opaque container (minimum size 12" deep x 12" x8") of washed playsand in the cage with the female so she can dig to show you she's ready to lay eggs?
Are they both in the same cage?
Water bowls can be a breeding place for bacteria unless they are kept very clean...so they are not usually recommended BTW.
