Stuck??

i noticed for about a week already that koopa is just staying in one spot in his enclosure.. i have yet to see him explore his cage in about a week. i been kinda busy working alot so its possible he is when im not here but im not sure.. any suggestions?

is that spot under his basking light>
what are his basking temps at>
what is the rest of the cage at?

I switched my UVB to a from a cfl to a 18" tube and this seems to helped. Also made the prime basking spot a little harder to get to, still very easy, so that it forced my guy to move a little more.

yes its right under .... his basking spot reaches only about 80 - 90 degrees. his cage is full screen in my room where its cool so im thinking maybe the bulb needs to be upgraded.. right now its only a 75 watt.. and the rest of the cage is like a 5 degree difference.. i just built him a new enclosure .. about a lil over a week ago.. since then is when i started noticing him "stuck" when i went to get new bulbs the guy at petsmart was saying i dont need to get a hotter bulb.. but im thinking he dont really know to much.. lol

if his basking spot is around 85 deg, i would not get a higher wattage bulb.

are you sure he is not doing any cage cruising? because sometimes my chams will chill in one spot for a few days, then the next day they are all over.

is he alert? eyes open, eating, drinking, white urates?

if yes, then id say creat some new basking spots for him.

im not sure if he is or not.. if he is he does it when im not here.. cause i have yet to see him elsewhere

his eyes are open and he is eating too.. drinking i havent seen him drink in a while either.. i have a dripper in there and it drips on to a leaf that is reachable but havent seen him drink

im not sure what urates are? lol

i attached 2 pics of his enclosure what do you think?

urate is the pee. the white stuff (should be white)

I think your problem is that you dont have enough basking area for him
get tha tfoliage more at the top, not the bottom,

Get alot more stuff up top. foliage, vines, twigs, etc and he will probaly cruise more.
you dont have alot of sufficient basking spots for him.

their pee is not liquid like mammels are. it is the white part you see. this means he is hydrated.
if that white part is ever yellow or orange, he needs more water.

I've been busy the past few days and I've only seen my dude chiling under his light and I was kind of concerned. I watched him today though and noticed that he usually eats, basks for an hour or so and then starts his cruising. It might just be that he's more active in the morning/afternoon after hes digested and you haven't been around to see him. :D
