I wish they had done the research on chameleon's from a working captive breeding program, but I guess nobody's perfect??
It is interesting that they (theoretically and empirically?) connected their short life spans to short telomeres, and (theoretically and empirically?) connected short telomeres to high levels of glucocorticoids. It implies that happier labordi would be longer lived
