Strange Feeding Behavior

Hi all, yesterday I took a trip to the fields to catch some grasshoppers for my gang and was feeding off the last of them today. Orcus, K.uthmoelleri, loves grasshoppers, and zapped them up readily yesterday. I dont always find ones small enough for him to eat. Today he got the last hopper and immediately zapped it, however did not crush it in his mouth, instead, he ripped off its leg with his hand and held it in his hand, letting the grasshopper free out of his mouth. He then preceeded to eat the leg out of his hand. He then re-hunted the same grasshopper, zapped it, but released it instead of crunching it. He released it on the brach next to him and grabbed it in his hand, again, but this time the whole grasshopper. He held it down and then shot at it as he was holding it. Finally he ate it, but I guess he tried to disarm it by taking off its legs so that it wouldn't jump away as he shot at it, like what happened yesterday. Heres a few pics of him doing what he did.

Polishing off the leg.
