Storing the Water polymer Gel

Soooo,

Like an idiot I added the 1 oz of water gel crystals to a gallon of water and then read that it increases 400%, I dumped it out of the gallon water jug and into a bigger container. How can I store this stuff? Room temp, fridge, or can I freeze some of it?

Its going to take me a while to use it all up, and I can't seem to find out how long it keeps.

Is this the same stuff they pack into baby diapers? Eww....

I have done both, refrigerated it and left it at room temperature in a zip-loc container. You can also spread it out on a cookie sheet or something like that and it will just dry back out into the little crystals.

Ditto. I keep mine a room temp and it keeps really well. Once I left a small tub (lid-less) in the sun for like a month and it started to grow algae, so dont do that! :) otherwise it seems fine. No funky smells or anything as long as its sealed. Like said above, if you dont want all of it hydrated, just put some out on a tray or something and let them dry out again. Its not very expensive though, so if you dont care, you can also just throw it away. It also works well in flower gardens and plant pots (non-cham cage plants) and its biodegradable.
