Still having trouble getting him to cup feed!

Does anyone have any experience with a chameleon just completely ignoring the cup for the first few days or so? I have been putting all of my 4 month old male's food in his cup for the past few days, and he hasn't touched it. I put the cup in a spot that he can almost undoubtedly see. Does it usually take a pretty decent amount of time for them to figure out that their food is in the cup? Any suggestions or feedback would be great!

hmm i dont cup feed but i do dust his feeders in a cup then sorta dump them on the cage from that cup. needless to say i know how to get his attention so he knows when the feeders are coming.

i swirl the feeders around a bit and that gets em moving and they start to try and climb and are active. one flash of that in his eyesight and my guy brightens right up and its game time.

maybe try that to gauge interest at first then place it in the usual spot. he may start to recognize the container that way

My female veiled who is approx 2 months old sometimes needs a ride on my finger to the cup and that gets her going. When I would leave the cup, she shows interest but didn't really eat too well. Lately since I've been doing this, she gobbles them down like crazy.

Simple, don't use a dinky cup that doesn't let him hunt. Use a tub. The movement attracts their interest much more often and quicker.

He's young so I have him in a smaller enclosure. Is there any effective way to put a tub in that wouldn't be sitting on the bottom?

It's okay to have it on the bottom. When he gets upgraded you can take it off the bottom if you want. The bottom gives him a better view so he will be more likely to be interested anyways.

Alright, makes sense. I will try it, he doesnt seem super interested in food all that much the past day or two, he may be full, I fed him quite a bit over the weekend. I am going to try and get some more feeders to spark his interest and change things up. Right now he is basking outside ^^
