Uhh, i thought they didnt have sticky tongues, just modified iggy/beardy tongues.

I thought it was like a rubbery pool cover. They shoot out the "bag" over the prey, and then a little muscle pulls the center of the bag back, and that creates a vacuum. Like when you put your hand (or fall in and drown) on a pool cover.
