Stella Update (w/ pics)

Lets see. For almost a month straight my female xanth Stella had this issue. Her grip was fine, but she kept sliding off the screen and falling in her cage. She refused to stay off the screen. I put as much stuff as possible on the side of her cage, but she still climbed it. She had always climbed it on occaision with no issue before. I had to keep a towel on the bottom of her cage to cushion her falls, but she would still hit plant pots, sticks, and whatnot. Well she has quit far a month or so now. I believed it to be caused by a supplement change/issue. I switched back to her original schedule she grew up with(repcal no d3 every 2-3 feeders, multivite once a month) I havnt seen her on the screen in a long time. She got extremly beat up while this was going on:( She doesnt look the same, and she has not shed in a long time(3months or so, longest shes been without). She totally broke off one of her occular horns, and broke the tip of her rostal horn. :( She acts like she is just dandy. Throughout the whole ordeal she seemed like it was the most natural thing to be falling 4' , 5+ times a day.:( This week her eyes have been a bit droopy. This seems to happen on occaision? But always goes away. But here are pictures. The first one was taken just days before the falling started. The others are from today. Honestly, she looks like hell.

Gorgeous little xanth female, and she has quite a large rostral horn too. If your ever looking for a stud i have a nice cb male for her!;)

I didnt read the whole thing the firsf time i looked, i have a habit of looking at just the pics:eek: Does she get D3 at all, im guessing she does and you forgot to add that in your supps listed?

I love how we pimp out our chams.

(and i cant say much cuz im dropping my boys off to get laid this summer)

I think its a great thing. Just because we cage them up, and ship them all over the world doesnt mean they should be denied the oppertunity to do what they are designed to do, reproduce.;)

Hahaha! Love it! But unfortunately he not quite of age yet and shipping temps are too cold atm. But he has been showing some swagger lately and he will definitely be ready by late spring early summer:D

Lmao! So true!

If she isnt in the sun most of the year, i would add that in, even if only once a month

I havent thought about it. But I got her in the summer and she got sun every morning. But the winter time made this impossible when I was in Texas. That may indeed have been the cause of the issues I had with her:( She gets sun 2-3 days a week here in NC, and the problem has gone away. Hmmm. But this is while I was using the repashy calcium plus. So???

Well... id say stick to what your doing, but add the d3. Even if shes getting the sun. Maybe 1-2 feeders a month. Have you pm'd xanthoman or.... ahhh i forget his sn!

try to get atleast 15 minutes reall sun whenever possible, i do it @ noon solong ars it's over 60. i'm working on setting up a perch w/ a heat emitter so i can get them all out 2-3 times a week over the winter. not having real sunshine when they're used to it really messes them up! Good luck!
