spring greens

Are they suitable as a gutload? I did check Sandra's blog but could only find collard greens, are they they same thing?

Im sure they are probably called something else but i use them with my locusts. It will be interesting to hear what others think.

I believe that they are one and the same - I searched all over for collard greens until someone said they are called spring greens over here! My locusts love rocket leaves and I also used to grow wheat grass for them but they ate so much I couldn't keep up with the supply! I suppose normal grass would be ok as long as no weedkillers are used.

ThAnks Tiff . I use rocket as well, its a bit wetter than spring greeens and the dampness tends to turn my dry gutload mouldy. Ive tried putting in a dish but its not taken so readily.

thanks! Another name difference, like coriander/cilantro! I've only seen them collard greens once in England and that was at restuarant serving African cuisine.

I'll use it as gutload for my locusts this week then switch it about. the insects don't seem to want anything other than kale and dandelion but I'm trying to mix it up
