Spraying for fleas.... before setting up outside

As soon as its starts getting warm I plan on moving Ringo, Starr, and Freckles outside. The problem we have right now besides ants is fleas. So I was wondering what others use for their backyard? I'm wanting to spray and be ready before it gets warms.

Very good question. Back when I had a dog I used a parasitic nematode to eradicate fleas from my back yard. I've never had a problem with ants. At least not in the back yard.

My vet reassurred me that the parasitic nematodes (A type of microscopic worm) were not a danger for my chameleons.

I would however use extreme caution with any pesticides. Other insects may come in contact with them and if they are then eaten by your cham you could have a very serious problem on your hands.

You could try Borax directly on the ant mounds.

Good luck.

Living in FLA fleas are a huge problem if you have a lot of grass and foliage. I have my yard professionally sprayed as of late as I have been having a problem with fleas, even though our dog is on all the proper flea stuff to prevent them. I forgot what he told me used though!!!
