just wondering is spinach good for your crickets or not. Heard they are good and heard that they are bad. just looking for some confirmation.

Spinach has oxalates which will bind to calcium, thereby reducing the calcium in whatever eats it. Here’s a great list of what to feed your feeders.

Doesn't that violate the Law of Conservation of Calcium?
Since said crix are likely going to be dusted with calcium anyway, I think the downside is minimal. ;)

BICBW.

I have seen from another care sheet spinach and broccoli are high in oxalate and not to feed. Though there is spinach powder in arcadia insect fuel . I think for me personally if I'm unsure about something I just leave it alone

That's where a lot of confusion stems from. Broccoli and other cruciferous veggies are very low in oxalates, but high in goitrogens, which may have an affect on the thyroid. Almost every vegetable has some sort of negative nutrient, if it's low in one, probably high in another. So mixing it up is the important thing. Spinach every day would be no bueno, but once a week or less, it shouldn't cause problems anymore than anything else.
