South Bay Chameleon Keepers April Meeting

Happy April to you all. We are doing something special for our April SBCK meeting on Saturday, April 27. We will gather in the South Orange County area for a nature hike specifically geared towards exploring the different insects in our area.

The hike will start at 1PM. If you are interested in joining us for this hike please email me at [email protected]. I will be making up maps and directions this weekend to send to those who plan on joining.

Get some air, have some good conversation, and you just might see something you never knew existed here! All are welcome. Just RSVP and we'll get you taken care of!

Just a note that this is not a good meeting to bring chameleons! We will be leaving our cars in a parking lot with little to no shade.

To those bringing or buying feeders, please take the weather conditions and the greenhouse effect into account.

You will want to bring shoes that you don't mind getting wet. As we will be crossing a small creek a few times during the hike. So you may want to bring extra pair of shoes and socks.

Have a busy schedule this weekend, so looking forward to a little time-out hike tomorrow. Should be warm enough to bring out some insects. Have my butterfly net ready. Have fingers crossed for start of painted lady migration too.

Had lots of fun on the hike. We mostly walked up and down the stream. Saw frogs, tadpoles, snakes, lizards, ducks, bugs etc. Here are 2 pictures of Craig with a snake he caught and released. And another snake that was caught and released.
I'm sure more people will add to the thread, we had a good turn out.
