Depending on the sex of your chameleon, that cage will start getting small rather quickly.

My five month old male is in a 18x18x30 and in a while will be moving into his adult cage. My 4.5 month old female is already situated in her adult cage - 18x18x36.

88 degree max? where is this? most likely under the basking spot, but it seems like it can be a little high for a three month old. The sweet spot with babies is a mid 80's basking spot. Preferably around 85.

You will also want to situate the cage higher off the ground. try putting it on top of your dresser? or a table in your room? sitting on the ground will make him feel very close to the ground, and thus unsafe.

Looks like you have done your homework, which is quite refreshing to see. Good lick with your new cham, are you getting the cham from a member?
