ok. I started this on another topic i opened about my cage. I decided to open a whole topic for this sole issue because I'm still pretty lost.

I'm going to have a 3.5 month old blue barred ambilobe panther chameleon on Tuesday (my first cham ever) and I need this down before he gets here. (so please help :] )

This was the schedule i was going to use for his suppliments
Mondays Thursdays - Herptivite
Tuesdays Fridays - Repcal with D3
Wednesdays Saturdays - Miner-All 0
Sundays None

and i planned on cutting back the older he became.

If someone could give me a schedule for juveniles, pre-adults, and adults I would appreciate it, and feel much more confident.

the last thing i want to do is kill my cham.

second... I wanted to know whats the best way to suppliment vitamin A.
I know many veggies and fruits that i plan to give my crickets contain vit a
and i know that once a month i can feed a pinkie or an anole of some sort to an ADULT chameleon, but what about until then?

and for those wondering, i will be taking him outside regularly so he will be getting about 2-3 hours (more on weekends) of actual sunlight ABOUT every day or so. I'm not sure if it was vital for you to know all this, but oh well.

please help, thanks
Andrea

From whom are you getting your cham? - I got mine from Kammerflage Kreations, and they sent me write-up on their supplement schedule for growing panthers. I don't see that exact write-up on their website right now as I'm looking, but what you mention sounds very similar - if not identical - to what they recommended and what I did. I'll check my containers when I get home, as I wrote the appropriate days on the lids.
My chameleon was close to adult size at 5-6 months, and that was when I started cutting back on the supplements.

Your supplementation schedule looks good.

At 6-8 months you can reduce the cal with D3 and Herptivite to once a week and up the mineral O to 3 times a week.

Vitamin A is tricky . I would not recommend supplementing it directly from a gel cap at this age. Consider using Zoomed's Reptivite once a week , as it does have preformed Vit A in its formulation. Herptivite does not have preformed vit A , only beta carotene.

Good luck

I got my chameleon from screameleons.com

and thank you very much for the information, any other information would be greatly appreciated. I compromised that suppliment schedule from kammerflage kreations and a couple other sources. But I'm inexperienced and don't want to make any mistakes

Will you be using calcium (without D3) at all? I would use that pretty much every day if you are using crickets or similar insects.
Also how you gutload should be taken into consideration with how much to supplement

the MinerAll 0 is calcium without D3.
I agree.

I personally have been using Kammers' supplementation schedule with good results.
So, you are right in track there, vindicatedornot.

I use a phosphorous-free calcium powder at most feedings, herptivite twice a month and phos.-free calcium/D3 twice a month.
