Something weird

I went to check up on my chameleon and noticed his balls or something were hanging out, but he got them back in. Is this normal?

Their hemipenes will often show whilst they are pooping. This was all new to me too, but I had seen pics on here so knew what to expect. My male Veiled never showed his in the time that I had him. It's easy to see why a new owner would panic when seeing this if they aren't aware of what the hemipenes look like. As long as everything tucks safely back into the vent then all is well and he is just being a healthy male. If they stay out for any length of time (hemipenal prolapse) then it is necessary to keep them moist for him (KY jelly or sugary water) and take him to the vets where the hemipenes will be reinserted into the vent. If the hemipenes are allowed to dry out and the chameleon doesn't receive veterinary care then they may require amputation.

That thread above shows my young male Jackson chameleon's hemipenes.
