when you have multiple bulbs in one fixture the uv actually gets absorbed by the other bulbs :) with a single you are getting all its strength !
It gets even more confusing if you have a dual or quad fixture that each bulb has its own individual reflector instead of one reflector for all the bulbs.
 
If your T5 HO is junk at 6 months, you might want to give them a call and see if you can get a free replacement. I easy get 18-24 months before they are down to half output.

3.5 is the max I expose the chameleon to.

Cheap lighting fixtures will prematurely deplete the bulb. If you’re going through bulbs quickly, maybe a lighting fixture upgrade is in order.
