Soil and Pots for your enclosure plants...

I am just curious what most are using for soil and for repoting you enclosure plants after you buy them.

I just picked up a couple of Schefflera and Pothos. I know with the water dripping into them a lot it would probably be better to have a different soil then the standard potting mix, or does this work fine and just cover it with something so the chameleons don't ingest it?

I re-pot my plants in organic potting soil from the hydroponic store and cover the top with some coco fiber. If you are concerned about you cham trying to eat it the soil, you can always put a few river or lava rocks on top to cover the exposed dirt.

yeah I have heard about people mixing half potting soil half coconut shreddings and then putting the plant in. Personally I did half potting soil half sand. Its all up to you, most important thing is to cover the top with either screening or large rocks so the chameleon doesnt ingest any soil or coconut fiber, which can lead to impaction.

This is all what I have read on this forum, so just regurgitating what others have said.
