There has never been a time that I handled him and him not draw blood. He's like "oh you got gloves and a sweater on, here let me grab your face then!"

I just remind myself that it could be worse...like handling a wild Parson's (well, considering the circumstances that's NOT worse!), a rehab eagle, hawk, a macaw, etc. Then it doesn't seem so bad. I've also found that older melleri tend to have blunter claws than youngsters, so just look forward to the future!
