So my chameleon likes to drink from a dish

Even though I spray his cage several times a day, my chameleon likes to drink from a dish when I bring it up to him. At first he just looks at it then I move the water a bit and he starts drinking from it a lot. He even comes to the front of the cage when I come into the room.

I know the obvious answer is "he's not drinking enough from the spray" even though I spray it a lot. Anyone else have this issue?

Very view will drink like that unless water is dripping into the bowl causing some type of motion to catch their eye. If that is the way he drinks and it is keeping him hydrated(as this can be tricky sometimes) then let him drink like that. Just keep it clean and make sure he is not using it for a toilet!!

Once they happen to learn the dish is a water source they'll use it. Just keep it clean. One of my verrucosus happened to learn that he could lick water off my hand. If I sprayed his cage and the foliage and put my hand next to a wet leaf he'd lick all around it. Eventually all I had to do was spray the cage (to get him in the drinking mood) and offer a hand with cupped water in it. He'd come right over and drink. He was a very shy guy but this was such a cool thing to watch.

I put a small bowl of water in my Chams cage with an aquarium air pump to make bubbles in it. He drinks from it every day :) i just make sure and clean it out really well every mourning.
