I'm going to go ahead and get the Arcadia quad do I need to get six percent or 12 percent UVB lights free 24 by 24 by 48 screen cage and a veiled chameleon

Talk to Todd from lightyourreptiles one of the site sponsors. He will be more than willing to help!

I got the 12% to add some UV in their free range.
Have it hanging from the ceiling, so they are about 16'' away from it.

Works great, and lights up my whole living room (cham's room I mean!!).

Now, if only I could figure out how to set up a dripping system, I would not need to take them back home, and that would make them happy :)

So, I think it really depends on how far the light is from your cham.

Using my Solarmeter, UV % drops quite a lot past 6 to 8''.

I would say 6%. But I think the quad light might be a bit overkill for only a 2x2x4 ft. I am using the dual (6%/6.5k grow light) combo and it really lights up my enclosures that are even bigger than that. You don't want the entire thing to be light either, shade spots are good.

Of course if you're thinking of expanding into bigger enclosures / free ranges, than the quad would be a good choice.

not to hijack the thread- but maybe this will also help others in free ranges :)

if you take a shelf extender, flip it over - use dry wall archers( the kind that expand under the dry wall, not the little ones that just poke in ) , and conduit wall straps to hold it up - it will hold a 1 gal milk jug- then when you add your hose- be sure to leave enough so you can take the jug out to fill it, but never have to un-hook it - that is what I did in the thing I just made - mine drips onto a plant, the plant is on a bucket w/ a solid mesh lid and a shelf support- so the plant can not fall in or the cham can not get in- it drips into the bucket, and then just empty when it get full :)
