So Excited! Successful Black Soldier Fly Breeding Indoors

I've currently got a set up started with 2000 BFL, I can confirm they don't smell at all. Just a dirt smell... I use organic dirt and feed them apples, blueberries, bananas, peppers (they LOVE peppers!), bok choy, carrots, zucchini, and squash. They eat everything before it rots, so no mold develops. When the flies start to hatch I'll put the smaller container in a bigger one with egg cartons and paper rolls for them to lay in.

I'll start my own post about it in a few months, if it's a success.

Edit to add, the leftover dirt after they hatched is fantastic for fertilizer!

I’ll be waiting and looking forward to hearing all about it. This is one of the feeders which I haven’t yet tried breeding.
