Apparently you can feed snails to a Veiled Chameleon? Is that right?

Where can I find some to order and/or get some to grow them in?? That'd be great to feed Ender some snailies :D

Yes with a but. You can't use wild snails straight out of the garden because they carry loads of parasites. You can order a breeding set, and they are very expensive ($6 each) but easy to care for. No where that I know of just sells live snails of various sizes. Pigglett and Sandrachameleon both have really excellent blog posts on raising snail. Start there!

I feed snails also to my Jax - but as the others said, you can not use the "wild" ones from outside - I STARTED with wild - let them lay eggs, and then let the adults go after some time, and kept and raised the eggs - ( you have to remove the eggs as soon as you see them , its to hard to figure out who laid what as far as the adults went  so as soon as I had a bunch of eggs, I let all the adults go- my snail colony is now 2 yrs old - :) ) same w/ my Isopods - the original starters were preg/ wild ones, as soon as they had the babies, I let them lose, and kept the babies - those you can tell who is preg ( see piglets blog :) )

Awesome, thanks for the URL!

I'll probably go looking around outside to see what I can find, because that's cheeper haha. If I can't find anything then I guess I'll go to the website. It's pretty much a one-time buy anyway...

Does it matter what species I raise, so long as I get the eggs and remove the adults?

you will not have to remove the adults if you purchase them ( and that is what I would advise ) it takes a LONGGGGGGGGGGGG time to get eggs, and grow them up enough to lay eggs, so you can use them - the purchased ones are " safe" ;)

Right, okay haha.

I guess I should've specified--I mean if I go catch them outside, do I need to pay attention to only catching a certain species or can I just get the first few snails I find and use them?
