Smelly Chameleon

So as much as I love Bagheera I must admit... He stinks. My other chameleons don't have the "odor" that Bagheera's feces has, and I am beginning to need some new options of what I can do to keep the smell down. He is kept in a guest room in my apartment, and I am worried that guests will not enjoy sleeping in the room with a smelly cham! Poor guy, he needs some cologne or something :p He has that very carnivorous, reptile smell that I usually smell with large snakes or sometimes beardies. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can cut back the smell? Any special paper towels that help, or so-forth? Odd question I know, but my stinky guy needs some advice on hygiene!

Smelly poop is a sign of parasites. I'd recommend a fecal. Probably a good idea to get a fecal on all of your chams.

Yep, I'm afraid I would have to agree.
I hate it when stuff like that happens!! :(
That's why I invested in a microscope, books, and some basics to do my own floats and exams.

How long have u had him in his current cage setup?

May be a good idea to fill out and post a "how to ask for help" form.

Well drat, poor guy! He has been smelly since day 1 of owning him! Looks like it might be time to see the doctor, then. Thank you for the tip!

Smelly poo can definitely be an indicator of internal parasites but if it’s overpowering (their poos aren’t big enough to create a stench in the room) perhaps the smell is coming from a different source like stagnant water in or under the cage or root rot from the plants.
