Small gap in lip

Not sure what this is but it looks like a hole in his lip any information would be great. And it wasn’t there yesterday

Can they get mouth rot this young he’s about 2.5 months old and I haven’t seen anything wrong with his mouth before this to me it looks like a hole like his mouth isn’t closed all the way I can get some more pictures from different angles later

From that picture it could be any thing from squished bug to an infection. I would start by dabbing it with a wet Qtip to see if it will wipe off.

If you work quickly to solve it you might avoid a vet visit.
The usual bacteria found in mouth rot is pseudamonas aeruginosa and once it gets a foothold it's hard to get rid of.

What ever it was went away must have been a squished bug thanks to you who commented glad this community is a thing it’s so helpful
