Slow worm care

I have recently found two slow worms, and for now the male and female are in the same enclosure.
I was wondering whether, if/when the female has any babies, there would be any risk that her mate could harm them? Should I move him into a different cage?

Also, being unsure with exactly how many they need, I've simply been giving the slow worms as many slugs/worms as I can find - but, with the increasing temperature, finding them is becoming difficult. Could anyone give me a number of how many bugs the slow worms would need per day? That way I wouldn't need to waste my time finding extras which they won't eat.
(The enclosure is open-topped and outside, so the "food" can escape.)

Thank you! :)

I'm would move them to a different cage just to be sure.
Is the species anguis fragilis?

Why not put a screen lid on the cage so the insects can't escape?

Can you post photos of them and their cage please?
