Slinky's first free range

Decided it was the right time to let Slinky out of his cage for the first time.

First pic shows the vine I attached to one of his branches, and the other end to a larger vine which is part of the free range "highway".

The hard part was getting him back in his cage. I have not handled or even touched him yet, so I ended up having to use a stick.
I did at least get to touch him for the first time.

Slinky is looking great! Glad he got some free range time. When did you get him? I must have missed that.

Thanks Jann, I got him from Sang early March.
He is a Acie boy, and is 4 months old.
Got him shortly after Squee passed away.

I usually wait until they reach sexual maturity, 5 or 6 months, to free range because this is when they become interested in venturing out and are generally easier to handle.

I wish I could have captured the brilliant colors he suddenly turned at the moment I let him out. I had never seen him like that before.

He wandered around, very carefully, doing the jerky leaf walk the whole way.
You know how they are when they are babies.
He did that for a few hours, then just parked himself on a high branch, and curled his tail up like he intended to stay there the night (it was 4pm).

I tried to get my hand under him very slowly, he looked at me and put one paw on my hand, then turned away.
He was a little upset, gapped a little, not too freaked out though.
To reduce any stress, I just got him on a stick and escorted him home.

Nice bars

He looks fantastic those blue bars are pretty rad
I don't know if he looks as good as Kane but none the less awesome boy
My guy is a little shy also but he knows when I open cage he's very attentive and comes right up front for breakfast and coffee and I have got my lands on him but he runs all over me
I can't wait until I can put some thing nice together for him to be outside still chilly in the boston suburbs

Thanks, yes he has a long way to go as far as color, but I see something new with each shed.
He is still very shy and reserved, but now that he is past 4 months old, I can concentrate on him and spend more time getting him tame.
I have been leaving him alone and just let him get used to me slowly, but now I am ramping up my efforts.
