i got my first chameleon today, took it on from someone who doesnt have time to care for it and i suspect he's been neglecting his calcium and diet a bit because his veil is a touch droopy.

he seems otherwise very healthy, good colours, good activity and eating like a trooper. weight seems good, eyes not sunken in or anything. hes also gripping his branches very well and his grip is super strong from when i handled him earlier on.

should i be overly concerned at this early stage? its just a bit curved at the top. ive got all the required powders/suppliments etc and have started on them right away. ive also got him a varied diet to munch through. crickets, dubias, wax/super worms and locusts. should i wait a few days/weeks to see if it improves or does he need to see a vet right away?

other than that im thrilled to have him, he's awesome and seems to be loving his new home.

A picture would help. Is it drooping more than when u got him? Some can be just shapped funny. It's also refered as his "casque"

It might never straighten out, so don't be concerned over that. It sounds like you've got him on the road to health with the changes you've made.

ive only had him a matter of 5 hours or so when i write this. it already seems a touch perkier to be honest.

if it doesnt straighten out im not concerned im just new to chams and wanted to be sure i didnt need to get him seen to immediatly.
