she sleeps most of the day and the evening. sometimes at night she is upside down is that normal? She eats crickets. I have tried the worms and other things she just wont. I planted collard greens at the bottom of her cage she eats them some times. I mist down the cage every couple of hours we tried the drip thing she didn't like that so much. I just added more branches. Temp during the day 75-80 and lower at night. Last week she shed. she doesn't like to come out of her cage so I pretty much leave her alone. what to do???pics on are page..

The first question is how old is she? It is possible that she may be carrying eggs. She certainly sounds poorly - chams don't sleep during the day unless something is wrong. Please fill out the 'how to ask for help' form - it's a sticky thread at the top of the health forum.

Does she have a UV light in addition to her heat/basking light? Also, as mentioned before chams need darkness and a drop in temps to sleep at night, so no heat is required at night time unless your house gets really cold.

youve got to take your chameleon to a vet & review your care techniques. as stated, it needs uvb. id try & get it in the sun asap if there is no uv source.

Looks like some nasty MBD from lack of UVB. It needs medical attention immediately if it is to live. As is, if she recovers, she might not have full arm and leg function.

no sun light from the window, my house is about 62 at night. when I get her out she seems better.

I'm sorry I have to say it "you should have done your research before purchasing this poor animal". Please take her to the vet asap!

Your chameleon has MBD and needs to see a vet ASAP!

I'm late to this thread but I agree. Just the profile pic alone was enough to see the MBD. Thankfully you found this forum and now you know something is wrong with your chameleon. As suggested, a vet will help correct the problem by providing you with prescription calcium drops and possibly injections. You will need to change some things in the set-up. It's unfortunate, but this does happen when a buyer isn't given the proper advice or when they don't understand the needs of the animal. Chameleons aren't as easy as other reptiles.

This forum and the members can help get you back on track.

i agree, deff a pretty nasty case of MBD in her limbs. and she sleeps with her mouth cracked open like that? the deformity is not curable, but you can strengthen her bones back. like a previous poster said, more calcium, possibly injections. i personally would make the time to give her liquid calcium through her water source and make sure she drinks.

I am sorry to say that it's not time to give more calcium or whatever. What is URGING is to bring her to a specialized vetenarian within 24 hours!!

The wait has been already WAY too long for her, and she can be saved. However, it has to be done by a VET and in the shortest time possible.

EDIT: If i correctly understood you, her only source of UVB is from the sun, through a window glass?? If this is the case, let me inform you that glass is UVB proof. In other words, your poor chameleon has never received any UVB!

it certanly looks like she has never recieved any UV, as for what i have to say, it has already been said above, poor cham :(

and not to be rude but you dont even put alot of thought or detail in any of your posts :\ you said in a previous post you had "Dirt" at the bottom of your enclosure (witch i can see now in the pic above) and it smelt like amonia and were asked to post a pic of your setup and didnt even bother. Im starting to think you bought a chameleon on impact and didnt bother reading up on how to care for it. well now you see the end result. we could at least try and help you out a bit more if you posted more info than 2 word responces, because at the moment in my own opinion you dont really seem to care all too much about your cham :\
