Sleeping on the ceiling...

I have a 2.5 month old panther that I had in a 18x18x36 DIY enclosure but it was not cricket proof (at least not 1/4 inch cricket) and he did not take to cup feeding very well. I decided to move him to a smaller 16x16x20 reptibreeze so he could eat some free ranging crickets, which he did right away. I have a ficus and various sticks and fake vines in there and he has chosen to stay on the ceiling after lights out. I am assuming he's feeling the place out and kinda stressed from the move to a smaller home. Just seems so odd...

Not really odd at all, he will settle in, give him a few days or cricket proof the other cage with some thin foam strips in the joints.

both my baby veiled and baby panther will hang upside-down on the ceiling i think its the funniest thing :D
it does scare me a little though im afraid of them falling and getting hurt

And I have fixed it. I have a loft bed and the new little cage was under it. I moved it to a new location with nothing over it and then i coaxed him on to the ficus. Presto! Slleepy time in the tree!

Cricket proofing my DIY is definitely in the future. But from what I've been reading, the smaller enclosure seems like it is definite plus for him as he will be able to hunt for his food more easily. -
