Sleeping and Not Eating

It is with a very heavy heart that I have to announce that poor Walter passed away tonight. So heart broken. Thank you to everyone who offered advice. It was very helpful but we just did not get him in time. I now know much more if and when I am ready for another baby. Thank you again to everyone.

I am more concerned with the sleeping part. I see you have your lights on from 8 to 8. Does he sleep all day or only near sunrise and sundown? My veiled turns in by about 6:30 or 7pm even if the lights are on in his enclosure due to the sun going down outside. I would be concerned if it was noon and he was sleeping, but not so much later in the day. I have two basking spots for my guy, and the hotter is about 90 to 94 degrees. This is the one he spends most of his basking time at. 80 degrees (non-basking) for the top of the enclosure should be fine. Your cham is also starting to get near the age when he may not eat every day. If he is not loosing weight it may be normal. Have you given any collard greens or kale for him to eat? Veiled's do like to munch on greens! :D This can be a good supplement for him while he is not eating as much and you can use as a gutload, too!. I have seen many threads where chams have not eaten for over a week and are fine. Having said that, when in doubt, a trip to the vet may be the best thing.
What type of activity is around his cage? Other chameleons, human traffic, other pets such as dogs, cats, birds? Ruth
