Sleep Walking??...

lately my chameleon has been busy at night, i hear him russeling around in his cage for about an hour then it stops; well last night i decided to spy on him, i used the light from my cell phone to peek at him and his eyes were CLOSED!...and he was dangeling from the end of a branch. so i had to put my hand in there to help put him in a more secure/stable area. and that was it, he was still asleep, he curled his tail up again, and continued sleeping.

is this normal behavior for a 2 year old flapjack, or any chameleon?

i have a one year old male veiled and my girlfriend told me she heard him doing the same thing. We havent seen him moving yet but we can defiantly hear him moving.

Mine was doing something similar last week (see thread "Eyes closed?") - with him (4 year old panther) it was morning and daylight, and he was apparently going through his morning routine, clambering about, but without opening his eyes. I've only seen that behavior the once.

Well I guess if dogs can sleepwalk, so can chameleons? I recently watched this video clip of this dog sleepwalking and running straight into the wall. lol! If your cham does sleepwalk, this can pose a falling threat though. I guess monitor him and make sure he's positioned a secure place before shutting off the light.

This is interesting... A chameleon sleep walking holy crap. I guess anything is possible eh?
